Q : What are the types of statistical tools?
Ans:
- Chart displaying frequencies (bar, pie charts)
- Chart Displaying trends (run and control charts)
- Chart Displaying distribution (histogram)
- Chart Displaying Association (scatter diagram)
Q: What is the full form of P-FMEA?
Ans:
P
stands for Process
F stands for Failure
M stands for Mode
E stands for Effect
A stands for analysis
I.e. Process failure mode and effect analysis
Q: What is P-FMEA?
Ans: It is a Quality management tool that reduces risk of producing defective products. It starts with the manufacturing process and accessed with three elements of risk.
Q: What are the three elements of risk evaluated in P-
FMEA?
- occurrence
- detection
- severity
Q: What is the full form of RPN?
Ans:R stands for Risk
P stands for Priority
N stands for Number
Q: What is RPN and how it works?
Ans: It is a relative measure of risk of events that could lead to customers receiving defective products. Each element is assigned a risk ranking on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest risk ranking and the product of three elements (occurrence, detection and severity) is called Risk Priority Number (RPN) if RPN is 1000 than it indicates that the process function was out of control.
Q: What are the four phases of quality?
Ans:
- Quality control (QC)
- Quality Assurance (QA)
- Company Wide Quality System
- TQM (total quality management)
Q: What is Quality
control phase?
Ans : In it the product is checked for dimensions, if it lies within the
control limits it is accepted hence, the target is just to keep the dimension
in acceptance level and the product is passing through sampling. In it there
are bound to be rejection as quality check is only the final stage without
taking into consideration the process.
Q: What is a quality assurance phase?
Ans: In it producer guarantees the product and customer specification is
translated into engineering specification by R&D then with proper process
control (PPC) the quality is assured to the customer.
How quality is control in company wide quality control phase?
In this quality assured in all functional areas of the company through systems like JIT (Just in time), self certification etc.
Q: How can we achieve quality in TQM phase?
Ans: In it internal forces of a company drive towards quality. There is participation, commitment and a feeling of pride in each individual of an organization. In it the word ‘I’ is replaced with word ‘we’ for achieving quality.
